צֶדֶקm. 1) (b. h.; preced.) righteousness, justice, equity; virtue. Hag.12b, v. עֲרָבוֹת I. Yalk. Deut. 907 (ref. to Deut. 16:9) אין יוצא ידי עולמו עד שיורה צ׳ בהוראתו he (that takes bribes) will not finish his days before he will prove that his (wrong) decision was right; Sifré Deut. 144 עד שיורוהו (corr. acc.). Midr. Till. to Ps. 58 ed. Bub. ולא הודה בצִדְקוֹ של דוד he would not confess that David was right.
